From the founder
I created Grip Happens because I believe the little things that make us feel uncomfortable or insecure during a workout shouldn't be ignored.
It started as my own problem. Ten minutes into class I'd be sweaty, the ball would slide out from under me, and I'd be resetting instead of working. I'd put a face towel on shared equipment and hope for the best. I couldn't believe there wasn't already a simple, beautiful solution for something so ordinary.
Sweat happens. Slipping happens. But there had to be a better way. I wanted to make something simple, hygienic and functional that helps people feel more confident and more connected to their workout — where the equipment disappears and you're just moving.
And somewhere along the way, Grip Happens became about more than a product. It became about believing in my own idea enough to build it from nothing, keep improving it, and see how far I could take it.
That's the part I'm proudest of. This isn't just a grippy band — it's what happened when I finally gave myself permission to believe the idea was worth pursuing.
With love and gratitude,
Marisa
